The Troll Den Empty The Troll Den

    Post  DoZiGuy54 Sun Feb 08, 2009 2:41 pm

Home to the cousins of the Orcs, the Trolls. Only the strongest of Trolls are permitted to enter, as the commanding trolls control their armies here. The Troll Den is located in the norther Peravian HIills, with close proximity to The Wastes and a river. The Troll Den is one of Halcorn's most powerful resources, as their is also a training center and armory there.

"Fight," in his native tongue the Chief of the Troll Den Raglin Mak Grakol spoke. Instantly the area became wild with sounds of grunts and roars the violence in their voices could be heard as the very foundations of the cavern shook with the noise.

Tyrinus looked at his opponent with complete focus, he wouldn't allow himself to be lost in battle, not again. Swiftly he reached to his bow strapped to his back and with considerable quickness for a creature his size released a volley of arrows at his much large foe. 2 arrows struck their mark and Tyrinus looked on in glee as the other troll fell to one knee his other completely disabled by the accurate strikes. Putting the bow back in position Tyr' reached for the chain that hung upon his belt, swinging it wildly in front of him he roared with ferociously. His opponent held a large hammer against Tyr' but with a simple lashing motion of his chain he had successfully disarmed his opponent. Whipping the chain downwards Tyrinus struck the exposed left bicep of his opponent. The roar that burst from the opponents mouth was music to Tyr's ears and simply spurred the battle hardened troll on.

Dropping the chain Tyr rushed in on his opponent striking his bloody mess of a body over and over again with the metallic knuckles attached to his very own. The more his opponent bled the more the crowd roared the more he lost control. A lifeless mess lay on the ground before Tyr' victorious once again he lifted his head and roared before turning to pick up his chain and leave the arena.

It was his 6th straight win and with it he was officially the greatest fighter the Troll Den had ever encountered, no matter the enemy Tyrinus was able to dispatch of them. More than once multiple freshly caught wild Drones were released upon the battlefield only to be obliterated by Tyr'. He truly was a legend to his people but he craved in the most simplest of terms a challenge, the battle of a lifetime, his battle.

The entrance of the troll den was unguarded as per normal, few dared to venture inside of the den much to the disappointment of his brethren inside. Darkness fell quickly as Tyrinus looked out over the wasteland, surely there was someone out there who could prove to be a challenge to the mighty Tyrinus.

Ergluk El Monog finally returned home to the Troll Den, his ancestral home. He had served as his peoples buffer between Halcorn and them, making sure they got what they needed. The Trolls truly wished to be left alone to their own fights, not serve another master.

"Ergluk, don't think those thoughts... Master will hear! Master will hear!" he didn't even notice he said this aloud. He ran with good speed for a troll, for while trolls seemed slow, because of their size, they covered distances quickly.

The massive cave system that spread throughout the Paravian hills was known as the troll den, and this was the main cavern. Here, the Trolls held their fights, their rituals to the great God, Zalac. His armor strapped to his back, and only wearing a basic loin cloth the trolls were known for, he stepped into the Cavern and watched as a fight ensued. He noticed one of the trolls was using a bow.

He watched the battle happen, then the victor, the one who used the bow, left the ring, and walked past Ergluk, who rested in the shadows, blended in with the Rock. Ergluk was the leader of the trolls in name, but truly, they were an individualistic race. Your status was based on how you fought.

Ergluk was smarter, so he won more battles. That was it. He despised this younger troll, however, for his use of the bow. It was a dispacable weapon, but he was effective with it. He was the type of soldier who would be great in their "scouting" of the Drache.

He walked out of the shadows, and up to the other troll, who stood looking out across the Wastes to the north. "Good fight, you have," said Ergluk. "You dishonor us, with your use of bow, however," he said.

Ergluk was testing him, to see his response.

"Tyrinus wins what more you want." Looking at the troll that dared to critisize his battle technique Tyrinus snarled. Looking away from the intruder of his sollitude Tyr' spoke again, "What you want?"

His voice was cold and reeked of anger, he knew anger quite well but the reason for these emotions was unknown. His hand reached down towards his chain and with his massive left fist grasped it tightly, should this talk turn to violence he would be ready and his arrows would do no good here.

Turning to face the troll Tyr looked up at the much larger creature, this was not uncommon his small stature often meant the opponent would underestimate his true power and that would be their downfall.

"Tyrinus is winner of many battles, what you want with him." Tyrinus was growing impatient with the stranger, why could he not just answer his question and leave him.

Ergluk growled at the smaller Troll. "You wish to challenge Ergluk to a duel?" He yelled this for all to hear. The trolls farther down into the caverns. "You fight my way then!" Ergluk dropped his armor, weapons, and everything to the ground. His muscles rippled along his legs and arms, and his massive chest bulged in size.

Ergluk ran down to the arena in the main cavern. "This real fight!" he said with a nasty snarl. "Drop weapons, little one, and we fight like real trolls!"

Ergluk wore nothing but his loin cloth, and was tense with the adrenaline pumping through his veins. His vision slowed, and he waited to see the response of this younger troll, this stranger to the outside world.

Declining a battle is the most dishonerable thing a troll can do, even more so than using a bow more so than sleeping with a goblin. Throwing down his equipment Tyr' removed his helmet, he was completely exposed, never had he fought like this. Slipping the brass knuckles from his hands he dropped them to the ground without a sound.

As soon as the metal struck the rocky ground Tyrinus let out a roar, rushing the opponent he stepped past an outstretched arm using his size to his advantage and struck at the left leg of Ergluk sending the behemoth to the ground.

As soon as the larger troll was on the ground Tyr' struck, using his fists he pounded at the opponent, the feeling of striking a troll and the rocky ground was quite similar so Tyrinus didn't know if his attacks had any effect on Ergluk. He had never fought so naked before, it gave him a sense of pride, a strange feeling inside him, perhaps this was how trolls were meant to fight.?

Ergluk let the smaller one give out a few hits. It was only honorable to not defeat an opponent without taking a blow. Ergluk threw the smaller troll to the other side of the room, and growled, "Good. You learn how to fight now. Get rid of bow, it for orc and elf." Ergluk lunged forward, and thrust his entire body weight into the smaller Troll.

"You suffer for you triumphs. Arrows no good way to fight, it marks a coward."

Ergluk jumped onto the younger troll, pinning him to the ground. "Never give up!" He roared into the face of the grunt.

As the larger troll roared at Tyr he could feel a rage growing within his body, within his mind. Why did Ergluk keep mentioning the bow, it was how Tyr fought, it was what made him different from the rest of the savage trolls, it gave him the edge.

"Tyrinus win, what more you want!"

Roaring at the large troll as he felt his body being pinned to the ground under the immense weight of his opponent. He needed a way out, the enemy was bigger, stronger and better at this type of conflict. As Ergluk roared at Tyrinus the younger troll saw a way out, as the face of his opponent neared his own Tyrinus lashed out with his own head striking the larger troll unaware.

"Tyrinus win! His battle he win!"

He could hear the crowd roaring, they wanted blood, they wanted this battle to end with the death of one and the triumphant murder of the other. Tyr' stared at his opponent snarling loudly, he tried to get within reach of his opponent but the superiour reach of his opponent made it impossible.

He couldn't win, he was not worthy of battling in the Troll Den anymore, he was a troll yet he was afraid of death. Turning Tyr' collected his equipment and continued away from the Troll Den, he would never be allowed back. He was now, and forever an exile.

Ergluk El Monog roared in disgust. He had hoped to make a true Troll out of this grunt, and it had not worked. "You walk away from brethren? In our greatest hour!"

Ergluk roared towards the entrance of the Den. He then turned to the other trolls standing around. "Halcorn give us war! We go to fight Drache, Demons from south!"

Ergluk El Monog yelled to the grunt one last time. "You not fight for your people? It is your duty and honor!"

Tyr turned back at the roaring Troll and snarled a response, "Tyrinus is not worthy, he is not real troll."

The words angered him greatly and as he threw on his equipment he more than once considered striking down Ergluk with his bow, from where he stood it would be an easy death to the larger troll, but where would be the honour in that.

He waited for the trolls to leave the area before he turned to leave, Ergluk spoke of the demons from the south. Thats where Tyr would go, he would redeem himself and become a troll.

Ergluk El Monog turned back to the other Trolls. "Gather clans, brothers and sisters! three days, meet Hammer Rock!"

Ergluk was showing why he was such a capable leader. He knew how to run an army, and was one of the few trolls who could think beyond fighting and killing.

He made his way through the caverns, with his equipment back on his back. The younger troll, who's name he learned was Tyrinus, would be back, or he would be killed.

Marching through the caverns, Ergluk collected various trolls following him. "Get your Clan, and give them weapon!" he would say, and various things like this. His goal now was to please Halcorn, for if Halcorn was happy, then his people were safe.
